Colorway Gallery *Please scroll to the bottom of this page for yarn information* -What are "watercolor series" colorways?
These
are colorways that are truly unique! Each skein, though dyed in lots,
is as individual as a snowflake! The dyes are applied like watercolor
paints, moving through the yarn and each color in its own distinct way.
I have used these successfully without alternating skeins, as they
rarely repeat the same mix of color within the same skein. These are my
very favorite colorways for depth and texture. Kettle dyeing, is ultimately dyeing fibers/yarns in one container. The result is a bit different from traditional hand painting. This is my personal favorite method, and also the most unpredictable. The finished garment moves through colors softly, with little to no "pooling" (when colors pattern in large shapes together). Please remember that there are no dyelots, and no 2 skeins will be identical. This is the serendipitous nature of hand dyeing. If there is a great difference in your yarns, please alternate skeins while crafting. Ordering all the yarn you will need for your project will greatly improve the variations between skeins.
-I have spots in my yarn. Is this a mistake? No! Color bursts are an inherent part of hand dyeing. (fiber or fabric, in fact!) Some dyes simply "burst" with color while setting. Not all dyes do this, but it is not a defect of dyeing. You will find a great explanation of this in many dye suppliers' catalogs for further understanding of individual dye molecule properties. Please remember that hand dyeing is an art, not a mechanical process. There are many variations and pleasant surprises along the way! (for example, some browns burst red and blue... some pinks burst purple and green!) This list is non-inclusive. These are most of the colorways offered for retail sale. I have many custom colorways and also exclusive colorways not pictured here. 2005-2007 Colorways: Italics= random kettle / watercolor series colorway Chocolat Cherise Autumnal Rainbow Pumpkin Pie Amaretto Cheesecake Blueberry Pie Living Light Emperor Jamie Woodland Fae October Patchouli Serene Ochoco Mocha Java Anu Neptune Aloha Ben Georgia Sakura Strawberry Fields Forever Valentino Vitamin C Bloom Orange Crush Gaia Jay Peppermint Mocha Succotash Summertime Rolls Naiad2008 Colorways Bella Calliope Esquire Ishtar November Pixie (has tiny bit pale blue that did not show well here) Scarab Soloman Splendor Wise Nine Mile Agate Kelso Drenched Parfait Secret Garden Asperge Calypso Mahalo One Love Sugar Magnolia The Pumpkin King Thistle Agatha Echinacea Malkah Safflower Twisted (will be renamed) Parrot Fern Gully Bettie![]() Granola Funk Gwendolyn Blossom Roots Concrete Jungle Boreal2009 Colorways Fiesta Froze Rose Levi Pressed Flowers Marguerite Stephen Equinox Hermana Shalom Solstice Spiced Cider Aquarius Cody Everglades Hope Jewel Judah JuJu June Lhasa Makeda Meadow Miguel Nile Nude Oliphant Orchid Paintbrush Sarah Zen2010 Colorways ![]() Arizona Blooms ![]() Chinook ![]() Daybreak ![]() Pacific Grove *watercolor series* ![]() Plum Blossom ![]() Taos ![]() Abyss *watercolor series* ![]() Cacao *watercolor series* ![]() Caribbean *watercolor series* ![]() Classic Girl ![]() Cottontail ![]() Cotyledon *watercolor series* ![]() Emerald Isle *watercolor series* ![]() Lupine *watercolor series* ![]() Napa Valley ![]() Rouge *watercolor series* ![]() Rumours *watercolor series* ![]() Tryst *watercolor series* For yarn choices and information, please click here.
